To check the renewal or updation status of your IEC (Importer Exporter Code), follow these simple steps on the DGFT portal:
- Visit the DGFT Website: Go to https://www.dgft.gov.in and log in using your credentials (username and password linked to your IEC).
- Access ‘IEC Profile Management’: After logging in, click on the “Services” tab and choose IEC Profile Management from the dropdown menu.
- View IEC Details: You will see your IEC details. The portal clearly shows whether your IEC has been updated for the current financial year. If it has not been updated, you will be prompted to do so.
- Check Status via ‘Track Status’: Alternatively, on the homepage, go to “Track Status” under the Services menu. Enter your IEC number and registered mobile/email to track the application or updation status.
- Email/SMS Notifications: DGFT also sends reminders and confirmation messages to the registered email and mobile number after successful IEC updation.
Note: IEC does not require renewal in the traditional sense, but annual updation is mandatory between April and June every year—even if no changes are made. Failure to do so may result in deactivation, affecting your import-export activities.
Checking and updating your IEC regularly ensures continued compliance and avoids any disruption in trade operations.
