Export Promotion Bank Account Registration on ICEGATE is a mandatory two-step process that most exporters get wrong, permanently losing duty drawback, RoDTEP, and IGST refunds they were rightfully entitled to.
his guide covers both: AD Code Registration for customs clearance, and Export Promotion Incentive Registration for incentive credits, port by port, step by step. Whether you are a manufacturer exporter, merchant exporter, or SEZ unit, your AD Code and IFSC must be correctly mapped on ICEGATE before your first Shipping Bill is filed and before a single rupee of export incentive reaches your account.
Just Rs. 4500/- · No Rejections. No Lost Incentives.
JPARKS INDIA handles AD Code Registration and Export Promotion Incentive Registration end to end: document guidance, e-SANCHIT upload, DSC signing, and status tracking across all required ports. 500+ exporters served across India.
Flat fee of Rs. 4500/- for single-port registration. Multi-port pricing available on request.
Export Promotion Bank Account Management is an official ICEGATE module that allows IEC-registered exporters to link their bank account, specifically their AD Code and IFSC Code, to their customs profile. This linkage serves two distinct purposes that most exporters confuse as one.
The AD (Authorized Dealer) Code is a unique 14-digit number issued by your bank on official letterhead. It is mandatory for filing Shipping Bills on ICEGATE and for ensuring all export foreign exchange flows through RBI-approved channels.
As per CBIC Instruction No. 25/2023-Customs dated July 28, 2023, AD Code registration is now a single registration. You register at one customs port and the code is automatically valid across all ports under the same IEC. You do not need to repeat AD Code registration for every port you export from.
This is a separate registration within the same module. It links your bank’s IFSC Code to specific customs port locations so that duty drawback, RoDTEP credits, and IGST refunds are electronically credited directly to your account without manual intervention or follow-up.
You must still submit a separate incentive registration for each port from which you export. However, as per CBIC Circular No. 24/2025-Customs dated October 7, 2025, once your bank account and IFSC combination is approved at any one port, it is automatically approved at all other ports for the same IEC. No manual officer review is needed at subsequent locations.
• Manufacturer Exporters
• Merchant Exporters
• SEZ Units exporting goods
• Any IEC holder filing Shipping Bills on ICEGATE
| Feature | AD Code Registration | Export Promotion Incentive Registration |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Customs clearance and forex routing | Receiving duty drawback, RoDTEP and IGST refunds |
| Code Required | 14-digit AD Code from bank | 11-character IFSC Code |
| Mandatory For | Filing Shipping Bills | Claiming all export incentives |
| Port-wise Required? | No. Register at one port and it is valid across all Indian ports under the same IEC as per CBIC Instruction No. 25/2023. | Yes. Submit per port, but auto-approved at all subsequent ports for the same IEC once the first port is cleared as per CBIC Circular No. 24/2025. |
| Without This | No Shipping Bill filing and no customs clearance. | No incentive credits; Shipping Bills are treated as Free Shipping Bills. |
Without a registered AD Code, ICEGATE will not allow you to generate a Shipping Bill, the primary document for customs clearance. No Shipping Bill means no export. This alone makes registration non-negotiable before your first shipment.
The Reserve Bank of India mandates that every export forex transaction be routed through an AD Code-linked bank account. This ensures export proceeds are traceable through approved banking channels and protects you from RBI notices and compliance lapses.
The following incentives are credited ONLY to bank accounts registered on ICEGATE:
A major update from CBIC: as per Instruction No. 25/2023-Customs (July 28, 2023), once your AD Code is registered at any one customs port, it is automatically valid at all customs locations in India under the same IEC. There is no longer any requirement to repeat AD Code registration at every port of export.
Under CBIC Circular No. 24/2025-Customs (October 7, 2025), once your specific bank account and IFSC combination is approved at one customs location, the system automatically approves it at all other ports you register for under the same IEC. This significantly speeds up multi-port expansion.
Customs authorities and RBI cross-verify your IFSC, AD Code, IEC, PAN, and GSTIN electronically. A correctly registered bank account reduces manual scrutiny and keeps your compliance record clean.
Complete all six prerequisites before starting the portal process. Missing even one can lead to rejection or significant delays.
All documents should be self-attested with company seal and authorised signatory signature. Documents must be valid and up to date.

Export Promotion Bank Account Registration on ICEGATE is the single most important compliance step for any IEC holder in India. Complete it before the first Shipping Bill is filed, before the first export incentive is earned, and before RBI considers your foreign exchange transactions traceable.
The process involves two separate registrations: AD Code Registration (single registration, valid across all ports under your IEC) and Export Promotion Incentive Registration (port-wise submission, with auto-approval at subsequent ports once the first port is cleared). Missing either registration, or missing even one port for incentive purposes, means permanent, unrecoverable loss of export incentives for every shipment filed from that port.
Done correctly, this registration pays for itself with the very first incentive credit it unlocks.
