ICEGATE Login 2.0: How to Log In, Verify OTP and Reset Your Password
ICEGATE login is the sign-in to Indian Customs’ trade portal, used by importers, exporters, Customs Brokers, shipping lines and other registered users. To log in, open the official ICEGATE login page, select ICEGATE User, enter your ICEGATE ID and password, then verify the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. New users must register first through Register Now on the same page.

What Is ICEGATE Login 2.0?
ICEGATE is the Indian Customs National Trade Portal run by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). The current version, ICEGATE 2.0, uses one sign-in page with two user types:
ICEGATE User: importers, exporters, Customs Brokers, shipping lines, airlines, custodians and other trade users.
Officers Only: CBIC officials. Trade users should never select this option.
If you have seen the phrase new ICEGATE login, it means this ICEGATE 2.0 page, which replaced the old portal sign-in. When people search for the new ICEGATE login, they mean this page. The login and dashboard process is described in ICEGATE’s Login and Dashboard user manual, version 1.04 dated 16 January 2026.

Step 1: Open the official login page. Go to icegate.gov.in and click LOGIN, or open foservices.icegate.gov.in/#/login directly. Check the address bar before typing anything, since lookalike sites collect trade credentials.
Step 2: Select the user type. Choose ICEGATE User. Officers Only is for CBIC officials.
Step 3: Enter your ICEGATE ID and password. Use the ICEGATE ID created at registration, not your IEC or email address. Our ICEGATE ID vs IEC guide explains the difference.
Step 4: Click LOGIN and enter the OTP. ICEGATE 2.0 uses two-factor authentication. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 5: Reach your dashboard. After the OTP is verified, ICEGATE opens your role-based dashboard.
ICEGATE Login OTP Rules
The OTP step causes more lockouts than wrong passwords. ICEGATE’s Login and Dashboard manual sets these rules:
Mobile OTP is always on. It is sent to the registered mobile number by default and cannot be disabled.
Email OTP is optional. After logging in, go to Dashboard, then My Profile, then Alert Management, and tick Email to also receive the OTP by email.
Three wrong OTPs lock you out for one hour. After three consecutive incorrect OTPs, the portal shows “OTP verification attempts exceeded, please try again after 1 hour”.
If the OTP never arrives, the usual cause is a registered mobile number that is no longer in use. Fix that through Forgot Email/Mobile? rather than retrying the login.
Click Forgot ICEGATE ID/ Password? on the login page and follow the on-screen steps. Keep your registered mobile and email to hand, because verification goes to them.
Click Forgot Email/Mobile? on the same page. Use this when the person who registered the account has left the business or the old number is no longer active.

Logged In but Cannot File: DSC and Signer Issues
Logging in and signing are separate steps. Many filings need a valid Class 3 digital signature certificate mapped to your ICEGATE account and the ICEGATE signer utility running on your computer. If signing fails after a successful login:
Check the DSC has not expired and is mapped to the same ICEGATE account.
Reconnect the USB token and allow browser pop-ups.

Q3. Is OTP mandatory to log in to ICEGATE?
Yes. ICEGATE 2.0 sends an OTP to your registered mobile number at every login, and the mobile OTP cannot be disabled. You can add email OTP from My Profile, then Alert Management.
Q4. What happens if I enter the wrong OTP three times?
The portal shows “OTP verification attempts exceeded, please try again after 1 hour”, and you must wait one hour before trying again.
Q5. How do I reset my ICEGATE password?
Click Forgot ICEGATE ID/ Password? on the login page and follow the on-screen steps.
Q6. Can I use my IEC as my ICEGATE ID?
No. The ICEGATE ID is created at registration and is different from your IEC.
Q7. Is ICEGATE mail login the same as ICEGATE login?
No. webmail.icegate.gov.in is CBIC’s departmental email. Trade users log in at foservices.icegate.gov.in.
Q8. Does old ICEGATE still work for logging in?
No. Trade users now log in through ICEGATE 2.0 at foservices.icegate.gov.in.
